Subject:M2 carpet cleaner
Time:04:48 pm
Makes one gallon:
3 T. borax
5 oz. white vinegar
1 gal very hot water
2 T. M2 soap

Combine borax and vinegar in a bowl. Add a couple of cups of hot water and stir until all borax is dissolved. Pour into the carpet cleaner reservoir. Add the remaining water and soap, and stir gently.

This solution worked very well in my Hoover carpet cleaner. Originally I made it with twice as much soap, but it was far too sudsy.

Based on a recipe from "Clean House, Clean Planet" by Karen Logan. I had made the original recipe with Dr. Bronner's soap, and didn't like it...too soapy, and *required* a rinse with vinegar. I altered the recipe to use M2 soap.

2 t. borax
2 T. vinegar
3 c. hot water
1 T. M2 regular soap

Combine the borax and vinegar. Add hot water and stir until all borax is dissolved. Stir in the soap. Place in a 32 oz. trigger-spray bottle.

This stuff works great! I've used it in many places: bathtub, tile, vinyl floor, painted walls, counters, sinks, stainless steel, etc.

To be used in the shower for washing or as shampoo. Adapted from a recipe in "Natural Beauty at Home" by Janice Cox.

2 T. M2 moisturizing soap
1/4 c. lavender water
1/4 c. honey

Mix it all together and place in a plastic squeeze bottle.

It doesn't seem to foam very well, but my skin and hair felt very nice. In general, I love honey as a skin cleanser. My morning toilette includes massaging my damp face with plain honey and leaving it on my skin as I brush my teeth and hop into the shower.

Subject:Homemade M2 lotion
Time:09:30 pm
Greetings.

The main reason I've been experimenting with M2 is my long-term psoriasis, large patches covering my knees, the backs of both calves, outer thighs, elbows and upper arms. It has been particularly bad ever since I gave birth to my second child one year ago.

I applied straight soap and gel topically to begin with, but I found it very drying, especially as my psoriasis lesions starting to heal up. I've always preferred using oil on my body as opposed to lotion--it's a texture thing, I suppose. Right now I am using Aura Glow (a blend of olive and peanut oils with lanolin and vit E) diluted with some jojoba and grapeseed oil.

What I've done is create a sort of lotion by mixing roughly equal portions of body oil and neutralizer gel. I mixed it well in a small bowl and then poured it into a squirt-top bottle. The lotion does tend to separate a bit during the first day, but becomes creamy again when I shake the bottle. It is very soothing and moisturizing on my crappy skin, plus I am still getting the healing properties of the n-gel.

The only problem is that it doesn't have much staying power. I've just started getting into making my own skin care products and plan on researching emulsifying agents to make a proper creamy lotion.

Why don't I just buy the M2 moisturizing lotion, you ask? Well, one of my pet peeves lately has been the sheer number of different products that I end up buying for home and body. I'm hoping to buy M2 soap, neutralizer and gel, and formulate as much as I can from those basic products at home. It's the pharmacist in me that gets off on mixing stuff together to make up my own concoctions. However, I am planning on buying one bottle of the lotion to give it a trial.

2 oz. Miracle II reg. soap
2 oz. neutralizer
5 ml evoo
6 droppersful of almond extract

Works well and smells pretty good. Almond fragrance is one of my all-time favorites. The almond extract does an OK job, but I do have some proper almond fragrance oil on order from a soap-making supply company (Bramble Berry).
